Les Owen enjoyed significant success in the private sector before joining the Metropolitan Police and quickly reaching the senior rank of Chief Superintendent. He has worked in major international business organisations managing a variety of projects over his time in the private and public sectors.
He has had responsibility for managing operational policing activities and experience in leading major crime investigation as well as strategic roles in headquarters. This has given him a wide range of strengths in management, understanding the needs of customers, human resources and diplomacy at every level. This is strengthened by the investigative ability to get to the bottom of problems, find solutions which staff will accept and give the organisation satisfaction.
The last role he undertook was OCU commander Traffic and as head of traffic division he saw the need to change the way we all see using vehicles and travelling on the roads. With experience of managing road traffic situations and the unfortunate experience of witnessing three fatal crashes Les will give you the understanding of what we can all do to make the roads a safer place.
Having completed courses in investigation, major incident management, public sector management and senior command he has seen the theoretical side to support his wide experience at all levels.
